1. On the gear side, remove the three screws and cover plate.
2. A white flag gear will fall off as the plate is removed. This flag resets the printer when the cartridge is installed. New starter cartridges do not have this flag gear. Until they are available, the starter cartridges cannot be remanufactured.
3. Set the flag gear.
4. Install the gear cover plate, and three screws.
5. Remove toner fill plug shown above.
6. Dump out all unused toner inside cartridge into a plastic lined trash can and discard. The unused toner has already been electrically charged and cannot be used again.
7. Refill cartridge with new toner and replace the toner fill plug.
